Despite the availability of Internet listings and virtual tours, a whopping 92% of buyers still find open houses to be a useful part of their search. Since REALTOR® Open House Month kicked off on April 1st, more than 60 homes have been featured by REALTORS® in greater Kalamazoo as part of the month-long event.
"The open house continues to be an important part of a homebuyer's search. Buyers need to have a clear idea of what features are important to them and be able to see those features in person,” said Robin Pompey, Chief Executive Officer of Greater Kalamazoo Association of REALTORS® (GKAR).
“That is where visiting open houses can be helpful. Also, working with a REALTOR® can be a real asset. REALTORS® visit hundreds of homes with buyers each year, and have a unique understanding of what buyers value in their local markets. Their expertise and knowledge can help you achieve the dream of homeownership,” said Pompey.
REALTORS® will be available again on Sunday, April 30th during their open houses to answer questions about the home buying process and local market conditions. A current list of participating open houses can also be found on GKAR’s website. A complete list will be published on Friday, April 28th by 5:00 pm before the upcoming Sunday event. You can also look for the blue and white REALTOR® balloons in your community indicating an open house is nearby or search #ItsOpenHouseTime on Facebook.
GKAR is a regional organization working toward the advancement of the greater Kalamazoo area real estate community. Its members are also members of the National Association of REALTORS®, America’s largest trade association, representing over one million REALTORS® nationwide.
