The Greater Kalamazoo Association of REALTORS® (GKAR) is consistently recognized for its RPAC investment achievements at the State level, specifically for the number of investors each year and total dollars raised.
"REALTORS® vote, act, and invest to support candidates and legislation that protect property rights and the American dream of homeownership," says Robin Pompey, GKAR CEO. REALTORS® with support through RPAC, recently won the battle on tax reform and now the deductibility of state and local property taxes and mortgage interest remains an option to incentivize ownership.
Additionally, REALTORS® are supporting the creation of a free savings account for first-time homebuyers in Michigan with legislation that has passed the Senate and is now in the house. In the spirit of both saving for educational expenses and realizing tax benefits, three other states have successfully implemented this concept. This tool will help support our market long-term given student loan debt concern facing potential buyers.
